Brookfield Lions Supports Group That Helps People With Spinal Cord Injuries
Brookfield Lions made a donation to Obie Harrington-Howes Foundation, an organization dedicated to helping those with spinal cord injuries.
Ms. Candice Wheelock, Director, Obie Harrington-Howes Foundation (OHHF), discussed with the Brookfield Lions the Mission of OHHF and how they are dedicated to maintaining and improving quality of life to individuals with spinal cord injuries and disease. Through their activities they Increase Accessibility with wheelchairs, ramps; Improve Comfort with therapeutic beds, exercise equipment; Maximize Enjoyment of Life with adaptive computers, sports wheelchairs; and Support Personal Progress and Independence of their clients.

The Lions Club is the largest Service Organization in the World with over 1.3 million members in 45,000 Local clubs located in over 200 countries and territories. The Brookfield Lions support a number of local, regional and international causes including Guiding Eyes for the Blind, Connecticut Lions Eye Research Foundation, Eyeglasses for the Needy, Red Cross Blood Drives, Ability Beyond and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. The Brookfield Lions meet twice weekly on the second and fourth Thursdays of the month.
