Brookfield Man Arrested On Narcotics Charges In Newtown: Police

The suspect was arrested following a traffic stop on Hawleyville Road on Feb. 8.

NEWTOWN, CT — A 35-year-old Brookfield man was arrested on narcotics charges last week following a traffic stop on Hawleyville Road in Newtown, according to police.

Keith R. Arnold, of Tori Lane, was charged with illegal possession of narcotics and use of drug paraphernalia following the 10 p.m. traffic stop on Feb. 8.

Newtown police said an officer pulled over Arnold after he blew through a stop sign at Exit 9 on Interstate 84 onto Hawleyville Road.

"Upon further investigation, it was determined that the operator of the vehicle Keith Arnold... was in possession of narcotics in the vehicle as well as other drug paraphernalia," police said.

What drugs were found in the vehicle were not disclosed.

Arnold was released on a promise to appear in Danbury Superior Court on Feb. 23.
