Brookfield Man Charged With DWI, Drug Possession In New York

He was picked up in a weekend crackdown.

New York state police picked up a Brookfield, CT resident during a DUI crackdown over the weekend.

On Sept. 7, State Police from SP East Fishkill arrested Richard D. Rzasa, 27, of Brookfield, CT, for DWAI Drugs and Alcohol, and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th degree, both misdemeanors.

He was traveling on Interstate 84 in the town of Kent, when he was stopped for a vehicle and traffic law violation. Investigation revealed that he was impaired by alcohol and drugs, as well as in possession of approximately 3.2 grams of a substance believed to be Fentanyl, police said.
