BROOKFIELD, CT — Brookfield police have identified the person found dead after an ATV was discovered in a wooded area Friday night as Francis M. Flanagan III, 66, of Brookfield. The identification was released Monday as the Brookfield Police Department continues investigating the fatal incident. Police said officers responded late Friday after receiving a report of a missing person. During a search, officers located an ATV off the roadway in a wooded area near 52 Candlewood Shores Road. Police and emergency personnel determined the ATV's sole occupant had died at the scene. The Brookfield Police Department's Accident Investigation Team is investigating the incident. Police have not released additional details about what led to the fatal incident. Anyone with information is asked to contact Officer Brian Flanagan at 203-740-4169. The investigation remains ongoing.
