Brookfield Odyssey of the Mind Team Hosting Flower & Flea Market
The team is preparing for the 2015 Odyssey Finals at Michigan State University.

Brookfield’s six champion Odyssey of the Mind teams, consisting of 31 students and 9 coaches, are preparing for their trip to the 2015 Odyssey of the Mind World Finals at Michigan State University, May 21-24.
The teams and coaches will be staying on campus for five nights, interacting with over 800 other teams from 26 countries worldwide as they prepare for their Word Finals competition.
Brookfield Odyssey of the Mind is entirely self-funded and our teams turned in record performances at the State tournament. It was the first time in recent history that a Connecticut town of any size had six teams win. Our teams work for six months to prepare their solutions and presentations, and it’s very nice to see their hard work pay off.

But all this winning comes at a price and our Brookfield OM Teams need all the help they can get. At an average cost of $1,000 a student (including airfare) for representing Connecticut at the World Finals, these hardworking and dedicated students need a hand with fundraising. Even though all 13 Brookfield teams of 85 students total did fundraising beforehand, the money raised to date doesn’t quite match up with their record-breaking success. With 31 students from six teams attending the World Finals they’ve still got quite a bit of fundraising ahead of them.
To help with their fundraising efforts, the team is hosting a flower and flea market on May 9 in the Huckleberry Hill School Parking lot from 9-3 p.m.

Mother’s Day floral arrangements, hanging baskets and planters and annual flats in addition to a bake sale, Italian ices and raffles baskets are some of the highlights.
Sixty “trunk” spots are also available at $25 per spot for people to sell their own products. There will also be a $5 charge for the removal of unsold goods.
To reserve a spot or make a donation, contact Debbie Brooks at debbie.brooks@charter.net or call 203-740-7505.
If you can’t make it to the market but would like to support the team, checks can be made payable to Brookfield Public Schools; specify Odyssey Of The Mind in the memo line. All donations are tax deductible, and you will receive areceipt and Tax ID Number from the Brookfield Public Schools. Thanks so much for any help you can give our hardworking State Champion OM Teams.
