Brookfield PD Steps Up School Presence After 'Swatting' Email: Barile
Police have increased their patrols at the schools "as a precautionary measure" following a "swatting" email, school officials said.
BROOKFIELD, CT — Police have stepped up their presence in Brookfield Schools after one administrator and a town employee received a "swatting" email, according to school officials.
Superintendent John Barile said the email, received Friday morning, had been deemed a "non-credible, swatting message" by the Brookfield Police Department. School operations remained on a normal schedule Friday.
Police have increased their coverage and patrols at the schools "as a precautionary measure," and school resource officers, security personnel and staff "will continue their vigilance," Barile said in an email to the community.
Brookfield Schools suffered a series of bomb threats last month, all of which were deemed non-credible by Brookfield law enforcement officials.
