Brookfield Police Beat Their St. Baldrick's Challenge Goal

BROOKFIELD, CT — Members of the police department surpassed their goal set for this year's St. Baldrick's event.

Participants in the event shave their heads for pledges of donations to the St. Baldrick's Foundation, a child cancer research charity.

The police set $1,000 as their goal, but managed to raise $1,300.

The PD's team consisted of BHS School Resource Officer Steven Rountos, and officers Joseph Kyek, Ben Gerstenmaier, Terrence Hawaux and Thomas Robbins. The team named dispatcher Stephanie Kulowiec "MVP" on their Facebook page for shaving off all her hair and donating it to Locks of Love, a charity that crafts wigs for people whose sickness caused them to lose their hair.
