Brookfield Police Crack Down on Texting Drivers
The campaign is called "U Text, U Drive, You Pay" and it is in effect through the end of April

BROOKFIELD, CT -- The roads of Brookfield are not where you want to be this month if you are in the habit of texting while driving. The Brookfield police have announced they will be out in force looking for distracted drivers as part of their "U Drive. U Text. U Pay." campaign.
The high-visibility effort to enforce distracted-driving laws is a joint effort between the Brookfield PD and the Connecticut Department of Transportation during the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s National Distracted Driving Awareness month to make sure all motorists keep their eyes on the road and their hands on the wheel.
Brookfield Police Captain Pete Frengs summed up the initiative bluntly: “Distracted driving is a real problem. During this enforcement period, officers will be ticketing anyone who is texting or on their phone while behind the wheel. The bottom line is if you text and drive, you will pay.”
