BROOKFIELD, CT — The Brookfield Police Department is introducing its first motorcycle unit.

Cpl. Chris Campbell is the first officer in the motor unit, as it is commonly called. Campbell has successfully graduated from motor school, which was hosted by Westport Police Department.

Officers selected for the motor unit must have previous riding experience before they can ever attend motor school, and must then successfully complete a rigorous 80-hour motor operator's course before they are able to use the motor for law enforcement purposes, according to the BPD.
