Brookfield Police Seeks Public's Help to Catch Traffic Device Vandals

The Brookfield Police Department is asking for the public’s help to catch vandals who destroyed equipment, WTNH reports.

The technology that was destroyed is used by the department to investigate traffic complaints.

The Traffic StatTrak Data Collector was 8 feet up high,strapped to a tree on Cove Road. It is used to help track drivers’ speed. On Wednesday, the device was destroyed and was found on the ground.

The piece of equipment is worth $2,800 and was acquired through a grant from High Risk Rural Road Speed Enforcement. The department will not be able to replace the device due to budget constraints.
