Police Warn of Electricity Bill Scam

Brookfield police are warning local business owners after complaints came in about people claiming to be representatives of Eversource.

The Brookfield Police Department are warning business owners to beware of a scam involving people who are claiming to be representatives of Eversource who threaten to shut off power if they don’t pay up, according to the News Times.

The scammers say business owners have an outstanding balance and must make a payment immediately via wire transfer, according to the report.
