Brookfield Property Not Blighted, Panel Says, But Issue To Be Addressed

BROOKFIELD, CT — The Blight Review Panel recently assessed the property located at 813 Federal Road, the site of a gas station, for potential blight.

The panel met on Jan. 22, according to meeting minutes.

The Panel reviewed photographic evidence of a temporary fence surrounding the property during their determination.

Following its review, the Panel concluded that the property does not presently meet the criteria for blight. However, members expressed concern that the existing temporary fencing could negatively impact property values in the surrounding area. First Selectman Dunn recommended that letters be sent to the owner of 813 Federal Road. Additionally, he advised that the owner of the neighboring property at 777 Federal Road also receive a letter.
