BRTC Candidates Celebrate Endorsement (Brookfield Republican Town Committee)

BROOKFIELD— July 19, 2019. At a decidedly upbeat caucus on Tuesday evening the Brookfield Republican Town Committee unanimously endorsed its nominees for the 2019 municipal election. The Republican voters present approved a ticket led by First Selectman candidate, Mel Butow, and incumbent Selectman, Harry Shaker. Butow is a current member of both the Board of Planning and Board of Economic Development, and Shaker is seeking his second term as Selectman.

Butow and Shaker are joined by a slate of twenty-one Republican candidates that taps the talents and professional experiences of an architect, corporate leaders, a banking executive, marketing and financial managers, the Aide-de-Camp to the VFW National Commander-in-Chief, educators, emergency services and healthcare professionals, and multiple small business owners. Many members of the slate already have significant experience on many local commissions and boards in addition to a wide variety of community service activities.

Butow spoke of his commitment to accountable government as he accepted the party’s endorsement. The focus of the Republican campaign is to fully represent the entire Brookfield community, and encourage constructive dialogue across all of the diverse people who live and vote here.
