Brookfield Republicans Vote Candidates At Caucus

**News Release Submitted by Brookfield Republican Town Committee**

July 22, 2023

Brookfield Republicans met the evening of Thursday July 20, 2023 to hold a caucus for the purpose of voting on candidates for the 2023 Municipal Election to be held on November 7, 2023. The vote was held at the Whisconier Middle School, in Brookfield.

A recount for contested seats was completed on Friday July 21, 2023 with attendance by representatives from both sides (this would include the BRTC and the challenging candidates) along with the Registrar of Voters, the GOP State Central Representative and legal counsel. State GOP officials were consulted.

What was believed to be a ballot overage was not the case. It was determined that the count from Thursday night was due to a clerical issue. All issues were resolved to the satisfaction of both sides.

As there was an open seat on the Board of Education and there was a nomination from the floor, the nominated party will be automatically be on the ballot. All uncontested seats voted on are also automatically on the ballot.
