Brookfield Residents To Cast 2nd Votes For Budget Referendum Tuesday
Voters shot down the proposed schools spending plan for fiscal 2023-24 two weeks ago, and will weigh in a modified BOE budget on Tuesday.
BROOKFIELD, CT — Brookfield residents will return to the polls Tuesday for a second chance to lock in the spending plans for the town and schools for fiscal year 2023-24
The proposed schools budget failed to pass on the first referendum vote held on May 16.
Voters will again pass their judgement on the $31.9 million municipal budget, which the Board of Finance has returned to the ballot unchanged. The new schools spending plan has been cut by $126,275 from the original proposal, now coming in just under $50.4 million.
