Brookfield School District Investigates Complaint Against Staffer

BROOKFIELD, CT — Public Schools officials are investigating a complaint regarding a staff member associated with the Brookfield High School cheer team.

Superintendent John Barile informed families Saturday of the district's decision to retain counsel to "conduct an appropriate and thorough investigation of the allegations in the complaint."

"The Brookfield Board of Education and its administration take all such allegations seriously," Barile said.

The investigator has already interviewed a number of witnesses, according to Barile, and those interviews will continue through the current week.

The district said it will "will have no further comment on this matter, so as not to hinder or unintentionally influence the outcome of the investigation," Barile said
