Brookfield Selectmen Move to Plug $3.3M Fiscal Hole
A bonding measure is on the table.

Faced with a $3.3 million town budgeting error, the Brookfield Board of Selectmen Wednesday voted to bond $1.8 million to go toward plugging the fiscal hole.
The $3.3 million was incorrectly placed in Brookfield’s cash account, writes the News-Times, but before the bonding can go forward the town’s Board of Finance must approve the allocation. The finance group is scheduled to meet this evening, Feb. 25, to discuss it.
Officials are considering a forensic audit into the $3.3 million error, but one has not yet been launched.
