Brookfield State Rep. Foncello Seeks Re-election for 107th House District
Rep. Foncello, representing Brookfield, Bethel, and Newtown, cited legislative work on taxes, education, and local control.

BROOKFIELD, CT — State Representative Martin Foncello has announced his candidacy for re-election to the 107th House District. The district includes Brookfield and parts of Bethel and Newtown. Rep. Foncello made the announcement on Jan. 21, 2026.
Rep. Foncello stated that his work is driven by the concerns of families, seniors, and small businesses. He has supported legislation to ease tax burdens and lower costs. His efforts also include championing special education and supporting veterans and first responders. He has worked to secure elections and defend the rights of local towns to determine land use and zoning.
Rep. Foncello currently serves on the Education, Appropriations, and Government Administration & Elections Committees. During his tenure representing the 107th District, he has worked to prevent state control over local zoning. He also advocated for relief from burdensome energy bills. Rep. Foncello played a role in enacting a law to lower prescription drug costs. He provided property tax relief for veterans and supported reforms to special education, including increasing the state budget for special education costs.

Rep. Foncello said, "It has been my privilege to represent the people of Brookfield, Bethel and Newtown." He added, "My work is driven by the concerns I hear every day from families, seniors and small businesses. I’ve supported legislation aimed to help ease our tax burden and lower costs, to champion special education, to support our veterans and first responders, to secure our elections and to defend the rights of local towns to determine land use and zoning."
Looking ahead, Rep. Foncello stated, "I will continue fighting for affordability, educational excellence and strong local control." He added that he remains passionate about keeping Connecticut a safe state with a strong education system and vibrant business community. He expressed his honor to continue serving as representative for another term. Rep. Foncello's public service record includes being an Army Veteran, former First Selectman, and holding leadership positions in civic organizations.
