Brookfield Students Could be Eligible to Participate in Agriscience Program at Shepaug
Brookfield students are eligible to go to Nonnewaug High School for the program, but if the bill is approved they can go to Shepaug.

Superintendent Dr. Patricia Cosentino said at the June Region 12 Board of Education meeting that state Rep. Arthur O’Neill R-69 is pushing for two agriscience bills to pass in the special legislative session, according to Voices Newspaper.
Dr. Cosentino said if the agriscience academy is approved, high school students from Washington, Roxbury, Bridgewater, Sherman, New Milford, Newtown, Brookfield, New Fairfield, Bethel and Danbury would be eligible to participate in the program at Shepaug Valley High School in Washington, Conn.

Nonnewaug High School, located in Woodbury, will continue to serve Woodbury, Bethlehem, Ansonia, Naugatuck, Oxford, Bethany, Woodbridge, Southbury, Middlebury, Prospect, Beacon Falls, Seymour and Watertown.
According to Region 14’s web site, the agriscience program is “designed to provide students a balanced combination of technical agricultural knowledge, supervised agricultural work experience, leadership training and FFA activities.”
