Brookfield Teen Arrested for Threatening Social Media Post: PD

The post from the 16-year-old Brookfield student included a rifle that resembled an AR-15, police say.

BROOKFIELD, CT --- Police arrested a 16-year-old Brookfield High School on Wednesday for allegedly making a threatening social media post. The post depicted what police say was an airsoft facsimile rifle modeled after an AR-15 style rifle, and the text associated with the picture was of a thretening nature.

Brookfield Police were alerted to the post, created the night before, after three students made the school administration aware of it on Wednesday morning. The student's parents were notified and came to the school.

Police found no weapons in the school. The airsoft weapon along with two airsoft magzines and four different sized rounds of ammunition, were taken into police possession as part of the investigation.

The juvenile was charged with Threatening, 1st Degree, which is a Class 'D' felony.
