Brookfield Teen Killed in Crash Completed Bucket List Moments Before Death
To fly to Spain. To kiss in the rain. And finally, to save a life.

The Brookfield teenager who was tragically killed in a crash on July 2 while crossing the street with her friend in Danbury completed a bucket list she had once made just moments before her death.
Rebecca Townsend and Ben Arne were crossing Lake Avenue Extension after watching the Danbury fireworks when they were struck by a car. Rebecca was pronounced dead shortly after being transported to the hospital while Ben survived.
When Rebecca was a sophomore at Immaculate High School, she made a list that had just three things on it.

On the Facebook page, Remembering Rebecca, her family wrote about how in her funny little way, the teen reached out to her sisters and cousins the other day while they were sitting in her bedroom.
They found a note in the middle of her bed that said simply, “For Future Rebecca Townsend.” A high school assignment returned to students at the end of their senior year so they would remember who they were at the beginning of their high school days.

She had just three items on her bucket list. To fly to Spain. To kiss in the rain. To save a life. While the teen completed the first two items on her bucket list, it appears her final wish was granted as well.
Rebecca’s sister Victoria told BuzzFeed news, that the last thing Ben remembers before the crash is Rebecca pushing him and telling him to hurry up. So Rebecca did indeed complete her bucket list.
“To Ben, thank you for letting her save a life,” the family wrote on her Facebook page.
The 17-year-old graduate of Immaculate High School had planned to attend Notre Dame in the fall. Even though, she had always wanted to attend a college in the city.
Krista Consalva, 23, of Brookfield was driving the car that hit the two teenagers. The accident is currently under investigation and any witnesses are asked to call Officer Lance Brevard of Officer Marcel Krujis at 203-797-2156.
