Brookfield Teen Launches Non-Profit Organization
Brookfield teen, Angelia Prip, launches scholarship organization Dance For Every Child, www.danceforeverychild.org for local dancers.
Local dancer and Brookfield resident, Angelia Prip, 14, founded and launched her grass roots scholarship organization, Dance for Every Child (www.DanceforEveryChild.org) this past June. Prip, who studies dance at FineLine Theatre Arts in New Milford and has spent the past two summers training with Boston Ballet, created the organization to raise funds for local students who need economic assistance in order to take dance classes.
Prip intends to raise the funds to offer a scholarship to a local dance studio and to the Park and Rec program. In just a few weeks Dance for Every Child will be offering a day of dance master classes on Sunday, September 27th, at the studios at FineLine Theatre Arts. The internationally acclaimed teaching artists include: Elizabeth Parkinson (Ballet), Kristin Sudeikis (Contemporary), Mary Ann Lamb (Jazz) and Emily Hsu (Jazz). Prip goes on to explain, “All of these teachers represent the best of the dance world, and they’ve been incredibly generous to donate their time to our cause. It’s a great opportunity for local kids to take class with teachers they could have seen on Broadway or at the allet and might not have had the chance to take a class with otherwise. All their classes are so much fun!”
All students aged 10 and up are encouraged and welcome to attend. The classes will run from 10:00-4:00 on Sunday, September 27th. Those interested in attending can register online at www.DanceForEveryChild.org.
