Brookfield Twins Debut On TV's 'Bachelorette,' Get Dumped

The new season of ABC's "The Bachelorette" will be a short one for two Brookfield contestants.

BROOKFIELD, CT — The new season of ABC's "The Bachelorette" will be a short one for two Brookfield contestants.

The 19th season premiered Monday night, and the two local 24-year-old hopefuls were sent packing back to Brookfield before the end credits rolled.

Twins Joey and Justin Young were a much-hyped gimmick on an already gimmicky 19th season that features two bachelorettes. Gabby Windey and Rachel Recchia were both former losers on the 26th season of the network's Lonely Hearts Club flagship, "The Bachelor."

Unfortunately for the Young brothers, the sparks were not flying.

"It ain't working for me romantically," Windey broke it down for the audience in a behind-the-scenes interview. "I feel like I can't build a big, strong bond with either of the twins."

The producers broke format, having both bachelors make their pitches to both women, together in at the same time. The curveball only served to highlight the similarities between the brothers, and not underscore the differences for which the women were clearly digging.

The Youngs had been roommates for a while at Quinnipiac University. “We didn’t live together all throughout school…but we did for a couple years and then we separated because we wanted to do our own thing and be individual,” one said.

Now both are working in the medical advertising field. "But for different companies," the other emphasized.

"I feel like I can't build a big, strong bond with either of the twins," Windey said, after the Young brothers clearly struggled to bring forth their 'A' games in the Q&A.

"It's definitely hard to form a connection when there is multiple people sitting here," Recchia said, appearing more sympathetic to the twins' predicament.

But sympathy will only get you so far on reality TV competitions.

"I don't know, it ain't doing it for me," Recchia said.

“The Bachelorette” airs Mondays on ABC at 8 p.m.
