Brookfield Volunteers Tangle with Brush Fire
The 'deep-seated brush/mulch fire' took 90 minutes to extinguish
BROOKFIELD, CT — The Brookfield Volunteer Fire Company was called upon to extinguish a brush fire on Friday night.
Firefighters dispatched shortly after 7:30 p.m. found a "deep-seated brush/mulch fire" at a property on Obtuse Road South, according to a report from BVFC.
In addition to the "Red Grass," a specialized brush truck, the company dispatched a tanker and an engine. The fire took 90 minutes to extinguish. Brookfield Public Works provided a backhoe to assist, and a paramedic crew was on site as a precaution.
