Brookfield Weather Alert: Winter Weather Advisory and Hazardous Weather Outlook Issued

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory and and Hazardous Weather Outlook for Fairfield and New Haven counties.

The advisory starts at 3 a.m. Monday morning through 6 p.m. Monday night.

Forecasters predict heavy snow for Southeast Connecticut Monday with up to 3 - 5 inches of snow accumulation possible when the storm is over. Temperatures will be in the 30s with wind gusts of up to 30 miles per hour and poor visibility.

The National Weather Service has also issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for Fairfield and New Haven counties. Lingering light snow is possible Tuesday night through Wednesday. Hazardous travel conditions are expected.

  • Tonight: A chance of snow after 4 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 27. Light northeast wind increasing to 5 to 9 mph in the evening. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
  • Monday: Snow likely, mainly between 10am and 4pm. Cloudy, with a temperature falling to around 27 by 11am. Wind chill values between 15 and 20. North wind 10 to 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible.
  • Monday Night: Snow likely, mainly after 4am. Cloudy, with a low around 20. Northeast wind 6 to 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible.
  • Tuesday: Snow or light snow likely before 7am, then periods of light snow, mainly after 7am. High near 31. Wind chill values between 10 and 20. Northeast wind around 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New snow accumulation of less than one inch possible.
  • Tuesday Night: Periods of light snow. Low around 23. Northeast wind around 5 mph becoming calm after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New snow accumulation of less than one inch possible.
