Brookfield Welcomes New Assistant Superintendent

Brookfield Public Schools appointed a new assistant superintendent this week.

A new Assistant Superintendent was appointed at Wednesday’s Board of Education meeting in Brookfield, according to the News Times.

Maureen Ruby, PhD, DMD, will begin her new assignment on August 1 and will replace Genie Slone who is retiring after a 25 year career with Brookfield Public Schools.

Ruby was formerly the Director of Pupil Personnel Services at Norwalk Public Schools. She was also an Adjunct Professor at UConn and Southern Connecticut State University.

According to her LinkedIn profile, Ruby holds five Connecticut teaching and administrative certifications. In May of 1999, she won Teacher of the Year for the North Branford School District and Jerome Harrison School.
