BROOKFIELD, CT — Town officials have tagged Brookfield's 4th Annual Block Party as "a huge success."

The weather cooperated on Sunday, and more than 1,200 visitors poured along Old Route 7 in the Brookfield Town Center District for the live music and a record number of tents and food vendors.

"The event generated a profit of $8,750, one hundred percent of which will be donated to organizations that help make Brookfield the great town that it is," said Greg Dembowski, Brookfield's economic development director.

Dembowski shouted out sponsors Big Y, Brookfield Village, Newtown Savings Bank, Bellus Beauty Spot, Emporium Plaza, Shop Rite, Union Savings Bank, Dan’s Garage Band, Durkin’s, Goddard School and ME Creative. He made special note of the efforts of a volunteer committee who have been planning and organizing together since January, without which "the event would not have been possible."

This is the fourth party since its debut in 2018. After the event's two-year inaugural run, COVID-19 sidelined it for 2020 and 2021, and completion of the streetscape construction downtown put it on hold for 2022. The festival made its splashy return last year.
