Auntie Mame tells the story of the enduring bond between Patrick Dennis and his vivacious Auntie Mame. When ten-year-old Patrick is orphaned in 1928, he moves from Chicago to the dazzling world of his eccentric aunt in New York City. Mame, a spirited socialite, lives life with unbridled enthusiasm. Through all her escapades her unwavering devotion to Patrick, and his to her, shines through. Auntie Mame teaches Patrick the value of being yourself and living life to the fullest: “Life is a banquet, and most poor sons-of-bitches are starving to death!”
