Candlewood Lake Winter Drawdown Information
Brookfield's Candlewood Lake Authority announced that FirstLight plans to conduct a shallow drawdown this winter.

Representatives from the Candlewood Lake Authority, CT Dept. of Energy and Environmental Protection and the US Fish and Wildlife Service met Friday, November 12th, with FirstLight, to discuss details for this winter’s drawdown of Candlewood Lake.
The Technical Committee determined that FirstLight plans to conduct a shallow drawdown this winter.
The Lake will be lowered between 4-6 feet, from an average summer elevation of 428 feet, according to the Candlewood Lake Authority. Their goal is to have the water level return to the seasonal recreational levels to allow use of the boat ramps by opening day of fishing in the spring.
Friday’s lake Level was 427.3 feet.
