Carbon Monoxide Levels Prompt Warning From Brookfield Officials
Elevated levels of carbon monoxide were found at a business during a follow-up inspection by the Brookfield Fire Marshal's Office.
BROOKFIELD, CT — The Brookfield Volunteer Fire Company is advising Brookfield residents to ensure all their heating devices are properly ventilated, and to maintain a working carbon monoxide detector in their home or business.
The warning follows an episode Wednesday morning when the deputy fire marshal found a business with elevated carbon monoxide levels, during a follow-up inspection.
The high levels of CO were due to an improperly vented portable heater, according to fire officials.
