Mark S. Lyon PCC PDG, from Brookfield, Connecticut, USA, was elected to serve as international director of Lions Clubs International at the association’s 101st International Convention, held in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA, June 29 through July 3, 2018. The Lions Clubs International Board of Directors is composed of 34 international directors. Together the serve the association by supervising all officers, committees of the board and association, managing association business, property and funds and preparing and approving the association’s fiscal year budget. International Directors serve for two years.
Director Lyon has worked in corporate legal administration and financial services for 36 years. He is currently board administration manager with Synchrony Financial.
He has been a member of the Brookfield Lions Club since 1996 and has held a number of offices within the association, including district governor, GLT district coordinator, cabinet secretary, multiple district council chairperson and multiple district GLT coordinator.

In recognition for his service, he has received numerous awards including an International President’s Award and an International President’s Leadership Award. He has also been recognized as a Connecticut Knight of the Blind and a Connecticut Ambassador of Sight in addition to receiving four International President’s Certificate of Appreciation, he is the recipient of a number of project and service related certificates.
Director Lyon is a Progressive Melvin Jones Fellow. His wife Carolyn Faris Lyon is also a longtime Lion and Melvin Jones Fellow
