Consultant Named for Brookfield Still River Greenway Trail Expansion
The town of Brookfield has announced an update on the expansion of the Still River Greenway Trail.
BROOKFIELD, CT — The town of Brookfield recently announced an update on the expansion of the Still River Greenway Trail, with a prime consultant selected for a significant federal grant.
Stantec Consulting Services Inc. will lead the “Western Connecticut Regional Trail Project” portion of the federal RAISE grant, which includes extending the Still River Greenway Trail (SRGT), according to a recent update shared by the Economic & Community Development office on their Facebook page.
The expansion of the Still River Greenway Trail is supported by four different grants. These include two Local Transportation Capital Improvement Program (LOTCIP) grants, one Department of Transportation (DOT) Connectivity grant, and the federal RAISE grant.

The town of Brookfield has applied for and been awarded these grants, which contribute to the overall effort to extend the trail. The RAISE grant specifically supports the broader Western Connecticut Regional Trail Project, with a segment dedicated to the SRGT extension.
Stantec Consulting Services Inc. will collaborate with several subconsultants for various aspects of the project.

Brookfield's Economic & Community Development office reported that a kick-off meeting for this phase of the project is scheduled to occur in the coming weeks. The town has made a significant effort to secure the funding necessary for this trail expansion, according to the Economic & Community Development office.
