Deer Me: White Deer Spotted Near Brookfield
Several white deer were spotted near the Brookfield border. Only a few official reports of white deer sightings are made each year in CT.
A few white deer were spotted in Newtown recently near the Brookfield border.
Leslie Vallee said she saw the deer Sunday around 7 p.m. near Currituck and Brennan roads. She said there were two females and one young male.
Deer are a pretty common sight in town, but white deer are a rarer site.

Deer experts with the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection said that the department gets a few reports of white deer in the state every year, said Dennis Schain, communications director.
A genetic mutation can cause deer to be all white (albino) or partially white (piedball). Typically reports are for piedball deer.
