Deniz Appleby, 41

Deniz Batas Appleby, 41, of New Milford, loving husband to Michele Chelednik Appleby and devoted father to Deniz and Dylan Appleby, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, June 23. Deniz was born February 5, 1971, in New Jersey, son of Gigi and Louie Vlamis, of Brookfield, CT.

He grew up in Brookfield and graduated from Brookfield High School in 1989. He later attended the Florida Institute of Technology where he earned his pilot's license. Deniz spent over 25 years in the automotive industry where he developed a passion for classic and exotic car repair and restoration. He eventually turned that passion into a business and opened his own specialty shop earlier this year.

Deniz spent the past 15 years married to the love of his life, Michele. Together, they raised two amazing sons and have maintained an admirably close relationship with family and lifelong friends. A true family man, Deniz enjoyed spending time with his two boys swimming and barbecuing.

Deniz is also survived by his brother Robert E. Appleby, sister in law, Rebecca Appleby, their children James and Charles of Brookfield; his sister Diana M. Appleby of Brookfield; his brother in law Tom Chelednik, his wife Tammi, and their children Skylar and Trevor of Brookfield. As well as a close group of childhood friends whom he considered family.

Funeral Information

The family will receive friends from 5 to 9 PM with a service at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 27 at , 786 Federal Road, Brookfield CT. There will be a private burial service for the family on Thursday.
