DiStephan, town clerk, Lucas, treasurer, nominated for third terms

Democrats unanimously select slate for November 7 municipal election

BROOKFIELD -- Local Democrats have endorsed the incumbent town clerk and town treasurer for third terms, as well as a variety of other candidates for the November 7 municipal election.

Andrea DiStephan was nominated Monday night at the party caucus that was chaired by her husband, former Board of Education Chairman Ray DiStephan, at the Democratic headquarters at 499 Federal Road.

John Lucas, who like DiStephan, was initially elected in 2015, was nominated for another term as town treasurer.

Both the town clerk and town treasurer serve for four-year terms.

Heading the ticket will be Steve Dunn for first selectman, a position that he held from 2015 to 2021 and unaffiliated voter Bob Belden, the current Board of Education chairman, who is seeking a term as an Other Selectman. Both of those positions are for two-year terms.
