Kohl’s Parking Lot Arrest Leads To Major Drug Seizure: Danbury Police
Two men were taken into custody and large amounts of suspected narcotics and a firearm were seized, police said.
BROOKFIELD, CT — A drug investigation that spanned several months led to two arrests and the seizure of large quantities of suspected narcotics and a firearm, according to Danbury Police.
The investigation involved multiple agencies, including the Danbury Police Department’s Special Investigations Division, the Bridgeport DEA Field Office, Connecticut State Police, and local departments in Bethel and Brookfield.
While conducting surveillance on March 24, detectives identified a man they believed was involved in a drug transaction and moved in, taking him into custody in the parking lot of a Kohl’s store on Federal Road in Brookfield, police said.

The man, identified as Leon Akeem Greene, 51, of Torrington, was found in possession of approximately 120 grams of a substance that field-tested positive for crack cocaine and $1,590 in cash, according to police.
Police then carried out a search warrant at a Torrington residence, where they said they found large additional quantities of suspected drugs.

The items seized included hundreds of grams of suspected crack cocaine, fentanyl and marijuana, along with packaging materials, police said.
A handgun with a defaced serial number and ammunition were also recovered, according to police.
Greene, who police said is a convicted felon on federal probation, was held on $500,000 bail.
A second man, Jose S. Dasilva, 59, of Danbury, was also taken into custody at the scene and was found in possession of approximately 31 grams of a substance that field-tested positive for crack cocaine, police said.
Dasilva was released after posting bond set at $2,500, according to police.
Greene was arrested on charges that include possession of a controlled substance, possession of narcotics with intent to sell and sale of narcotic substances. Dasilva was arrested on a charge of possession of a controlled substance, police said.
Police said additional charges may be pending as the investigation continues.
