'From Ella to Aretha' at The Brookfield Library

In addition to Ella and Aretha, this showcase pays tribute to Billie Holiday, Nina Simone, Nancy Wilson, Etta James and many others.

BROOKFIELD, CT — Join vocalist Rhonda Denét and The Silver Fox Trio for their performance of “From Ella to Aretha” on Sunday, October 21 at 3:00 p.m. in the Community Room of The Brookfield Library. The program will take listeners on a musical journey from a time when the First Lady of Song, Ella Fitzgerald, graced the stage to when the Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin, ruled the airways.

In addition to Ella and Aretha, this showcase pays tribute to Billie Holiday, Nina Simone, Nancy Wilson, Etta James, Martha & The Vandellas, Mary Wells, and Gladys Knight. Rhonda Denét is hailed as a virtuoso who lends her flair to every song she sings, with a resonant, confident voice that comes from the depths of her life, and from her life experiences.

In addition to being the founder and primary performer for the Silver Fox Songs showcase series, Denét performs regularly throughout the New York metropolitan area with her band The Bad Cats, as the lead vocalist for The Kazz Music Orchestra and with several other regional projects. “When I perform, I am in the moment, feeling and experiencing the height of my soul’s joy,” she wrote on her personal website. “I am committed to inviting folks to share those feelings with me.” Through the music, the magic and the message there is something for everyone.
