The Brookfield SEPTA will be holding its next meeting on Monday, January 9, 2012, at 7pm in the Brookfield Library’s Community Room, 182 West Whisconier Road, Brookfield. Chris Abildgaard, a Nationally Certified School Psychologist with a specialization in Autism Spectrum Disorders and social cognitive interventions will be giving a presentation, “The Importance of Social Thinking and Beyond.” Some of the topics to be covered are the importance of understanding invisible deficits and how to get started thinking about social thinking!
Mr. Abildgaard is the Director of the newly established Social Learning Center at Benhaven. He has enhanced his knowledge of social cognitive deficits through attending trainings and on-going collaboration with Michelle Garcia Winner, SLP. Chris is currently the only private consultant in Connecticut who has advanced training through Ms. Garcia Winner’s Social Thinking Mentor Training and Internship Program.
