Fatal Car Crash in Brookfield Under Investigation
The driver was pronounced dead at Danbury Hospital.
BROOKFIELD, CT — A motorist was killed when their vehicle crashed along Candlewood Lake Road Saturday night.
Brookfield police were notified of the accident at 10:45 p.m., and first responders found that a vehicle traveling northbound near the entrance to Candlewood Birches, just after passing Echo Bay Marina, had left the road, struck a utility pole, and then struck a parked vehicle.
The driver, who was the vehicle's sole occupant, was taken by ambulance to Danbury Hospital and pronounced dead at approximately 11:28 p.m. The driver's name is being withheld pending notification of their family.

The section of Candlewood Lake Road near the accident was closed while the utility pole was repaired. Emergency crews were on site until 2:00 Sunday morning.
The crash is being investigated by the Brookfield Accident Investigation Team.
