Father's Day Fire Consumes Home In Brookfield: BVFC

No one was injured in a Father's Day fire that consumed a Brookfield home.

BROOKFIELD, CT — No one was injured in a Father's Day fire that consumed a Brookfield home.

Brookfield Volunteer Fire Company and EMS crews received a report of the structure fire just before 9:30 a.m. Sunday. Eyeing the large column of smoke from across town, fire officials and requested a second alarm be transmitted, bringing mutual aid companies.

First responders to the scene found a rapidly advancing fire, and called in a third alarm, according to fire officials.

Firefighters brought the blaze under control in 90 minutes, and crews were released by 3 p.m., following extensive overhaul and clean up.

BVFC Fire and EMS were assisted by crews from Hawleyville Volunteer Fire Company #1, Newtown Hook & Ladder, Stony Hill Volunteer Fire, Company Rescue 2, Water Witch Hose Co. #2, Sandy Hook Volunteer Fire & Rescue, Bethel Fire & EMS and Danbury Volunteer Fire Battalion.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Brookfield Fire Marshal's Office and the Connecticut State Police Fire Investigative unit.
