Fire Breaks Out At Brookfield Condo Complex: Fire Officials

The fire was reported in a garbage shed and is under investigation by the Fire Marshal's Office.

BROOKFIELD, CT — A fire broke out in a garbage shed at a condominium complex in Brookfield on Sunday, according to the Brookfield Volunteer Fire Company.

The fire happened at Chatham Court while firefighters were participating in annual mandated OSHA training.

Firefighters from both the Brookfield Volunteer Fire Company and Brookfield Volunteer Fire Company No. 2 were conducting training when they were dispatched to the scene, officials said.

Car 10 arrived within one minute of dispatch and reported a working fire in one of the garbage sheds, the department said.

The fire was contained to a garbage can with some extension to the shed structure, according to the department.

No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Fire Marshal’s Office.
