Firefighters Battle Blaze Inside Brookfield Elementary School

BROOKFIELD, CT — Firefighters from Brookfield, Danbury and Bethel responded to a small fire at the Huckleberry Hill Elementary School Sunday afternoon, according to the Brookfield Volunteer Fire Department.

The department says that a small fire started inside an air heating and cooling unit, and was contained quickly. There was minimal damage, and there was also a moderate amount of smoke that was also quickly contained.

Nobody was inside the building during the incident.
