Firefighters Tackle 2-Alarm Blaze in Brookfield

The house fire broke out Monday morning.

BROOKFIELD, CT — Brookfield firefighters extinguished a two-alarm blaze at a residence on Monday.

The Brookfield Volunteer Fire Company were the first responders to the fire reported at 3 New Bridge Road around 9:20 Monday morning, and called in a second alarm.

Mutual aid was then provided by crews from the Brookfield Fire Department, Water Witch Hose Co. #2 of New Milford, Northville Volunteer Fire Department, Newtown Hook & Ladder, Stony Hill Volunteer Fire Company, Roxbury Ambulance Association and the Brookfield Police Department

Firefighters stretched lines to the basement and encountered heavy fire and smoke conditions. Crews ventilated the roof of the single family dwelling and performed extensive overhaul throughout the structure, according to a report from BVFC.

All crews were clear of the scene by 11:30. No injuries were reported.

The Hawleyville Volunteer Fire Company #1 and the Bridgewater Volunteer Fire Department provided station coverage during the incident at the Pocono Road station.

The fire is under investigation by the Brookfield Fire Marshals office.
