BROOKFIELD, CT — According to Rankings website Niche.com, Brookfield is the No. 78 best place to live in Connecticut.

Niche.com gives Brookfield an overall "A-" score, and the town receives an "A" for its overall health and fitness opportunities. The town's family friendliness and employment outlook also scored an "A-." The town has a bit more going on for its older residents, according to Niche's analysts, who ranked Brookfield No. 45 among the state's best places to retire.

According to Niche.com, the median average home value in Brookfield is $389,800 and the rent is $1,711 a month. The median household income in the town is $128,606. Niche.com ranked Brookfield No. 65 among the best places to buy a house in Connecticut.

West Hartford was once again deemed to be the No. 1 place to live in Connecticut for 2023. The Hartford suburb garnered an overall "A+" grade, and copped top marks for its public schools, family friendliness, and the health/fitness of its residents. It was also No. 1 on the list of the best suburbs in the state.

For its scores, Niche drew upon data from the U.S. Census Bureau's American Community Survey, the Federal Bureau of Investigation's Uniformed Crime Report, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's Climatic Data Center, the US Department of Agriculture's Food Environment Atlas and other sources, as well as millions of resident reviews.
