Indy Candidate Throws Hat In Ring For Top Brookfield Job
Austin Monteiro has announced he is running as an unaffiliated candidate for first Selectman in Brookfield.
BROOKFIELD, CT — The race for first selectman has widened into a three candidate contest.
Austin Monteiro, 38, has filed with the Town Clerk's Office to run against Republican Tara Carr and Democratic incumbent Steve Dunn.
Monteiro's platform focuses on "personal freedoms, free enterprise, a balanced budget, lower taxes, making Brookfield more attractive to investors and improving our schools in all facets," according to a news release.

The new candidate owned and operated a CrossFit gym for about 10 years, worked in commercial real estate, and currently owns a consulting and coaching business.
