Janet L. Brittingham, 86, formerly of Brookfield, died August 21, 2011, at Indian River Medical Center in Vero Beach. She was born in Bridgeport, CT and lived in Vero Beach since 1986, coming from Brookfield Center. She was a parishioner of St. Joseph Church in Brookfield since 1956.
Mrs. Brittingham was an active homemaker who devoted herself to her husband and children. She worked in the cafeteria at Consolidated School in Brookfield for 13 years.
Survivors include her sons, Douglas Brittingham, Jr., and Scott Brittingham, both of New Milford; Peter Brittingham of East Canaan; and James Brittingham of Plymouth; daughter, Kathy Adams of Dunedin, FL; brother, William Lamond of Guilford; sister, Marguerite L. Van Wagner of Vero Beach, FL; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, October 29 at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Church, Brookfield.
