Latest Brookfield Coronavirus Update: 96 Confirmed Cases
Here are the latest, local updates on how the coronavirus outbreak is impacting Brookfield.
BROOKFIELD, CT — The Connecticut Department of Public Health has confirmed there are 96 cases of the new coronavirus in the Town as of Wednesday.
"Brookfield Recovers" is a special fund created to assist residents impacted by the COVID-19 emergency.
"Brookfield is an extremely generous town, so it's not surprising that we've been overwhelmed with inquiries from residents about 'how can we help?' This is how you can help Brookfield residents," First Selectman Steve Dunn posted on the Town website.

Donations will be administered by the town's Department of Social Services, according to Dunn, with 100 percent of all contributions directly benefiting residents in need.
Connecticut announced another 197 coronavirus-related deaths on Wednesday along with 766 new positive cases. State COO Josh Geballe said the high single-day number was due to a catch-up period of processing data on at-home and other deaths over the past two weeks. Part of that was due to a backlog from the Office of the State Medical Examiner office.
