Brookfield Historical Society Hosts Lecture and Book Signing on a new Publication Home Front A Memoir from WWII
DATE AND TIME OF EVENT: Wednesday, May 16 at 7:30 P.M.
LOCATION: Brookfield Museum and Historical Society 165 Whisconier Road (Junction of Routes 25 and 133) Brookfield Center, CT.

The Brookfield Historical Society will host a talk by author C.D. (Pete) Peterson.
The multi-media program will present an overview of Peterson’s recently published work, Home Front A Memoir from WWII. The program will focus on a child’s recollections of life during and after WWII. His presentation, accompanied by photos and music from the era, tells the true story of the turbulence confronting one American farm family’s experiences dealing with black out drills, rationing, separation, fear, patriotism, and much more during the war. It also highlights the unity and exuberance in that brief, post-war period when America felt safe and when the middle class was born.
Peterson, a longtime resident of Brookfield enlisted in the United States Navy and next to President George H.W. Bush, Peterson was the second youngest ever naval aviator. He served on the Carrier USS Wasp. He has been active as a past member of the Town’s Board of Finance and was VP of Planning and Marketing at Danbury Hospital. His other works include several business books and the History of Danbury Hospital.
Admission to the program is free and complimentary refreshments are provided. For more information on this and other public programs of the Brookfield Historical Society log onto www.brookfieldcthistory.org
