Legislative Candidates To Discuss Issues

Brookfield Chamber of Commerce to hold forum on October 17

BROOKFIELD – The Brookfield Chamber of Commerce will facilitate a discussion of state issues this fall with the candidates in the 107th House District and the 30th Senate District.
The Legislative Candidates Forum will be held on Monday, October 17, starting at 7 p.m. in the Brookfield High School Auditorium.

The chamber has invited the candidates in the 107th District and the 30th District. To date, the chamber has commitments from Democrat Phoebe Holmes of Brookfield in the 107th District, and Democrat Eva Bermudez Zimmerman of New Milford and Republican Stephen Harding of Brookfield in the 30th District.
Scott Benjamin, a reporter for Brookfield Patch and an online Political Science instructor at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, will be the moderator.

The chamber has sponsored events with candidates for first selectman and state legislative offices since 2009.

The public is invited to attend. Refreshments will be available.
