Local Emergency Crews Tackle Brookfield House Fire

First responders to the Brookfield blaze found a one-story L-shaped ranch with smoke issuing from the eaves and roof area.

BROOKFIELD, CT — No one was injured in a fire in a house fire on Evas Drive in Brookfield Monday.

Brookfield Volunteer Fire & EMS were dispatched to the blaze around twenty minutes before 2 p.m. First responders found a one-story L-shaped ranch with smoke issuing from the eaves and roof area.

Firefighters stretched two lines, and the blaze was located and extinguished. Crews vented the roof, and conducted searches which turned up no other dangers. Thirty emergency workers were on the scene for 90 minutes, according to a post by fire officials on social media.

The Brookfield volunteers were assisted by Stony Hill Volunteer Fire Company, Bethel Fire & EMS, Danbury Fire Department, Hawleyville Volunteer Fire Company #1, while station coverage was provided by Water Witch Hose Co. #2 of New Milford.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Brookfield Fire Marshal’s Office.
